Un test français und ganz viele bunte Klebedinge.

Chers amis,
je passe une semaine de vacances en France. Il fait beau. Je suis à la mer. Le lieu de vacances est petit et bon. J'ai visité l'hôtel de ville qui est âgé. Je suis allée à velo et j'ai nagé dans la mer. J'ai regardé un dauphin! Hier, j'ai mangé des spécialités. Demain, je vais faire les magasins. Je vais acheter un livre de français et un livre amusant. Nous allons partir ensemble la prochaine fois.

So, oder so ähnlich sah heute mein Postkartentext in der Französischprüfung aus. Allein für den Delphin-Satz sollte ich 50 Punkte bekommen. Damit könnte ich die vermasselten Hörverständnis- und Textverständnisaufgaben ausgleichen. Glücklicherweise wird die Note niemals irgendwo auftauchen, weil ich den Kurs freiwillig besucht habe. Vielleicht werde ich selbst die Note nie erfahren, ich weiß nämlich nicht, ob die Dozenten meine "Ich mache den Kurs freiwillig, können Sie mir die Note per Mail schicken? Merci :)"-Nachricht auf dem Deckblatt der Prüfung verstehen. 

Nachdem die Prüfung und der damit verbundene Lernprozess (welcher durch den Doof-Schnupfen am Wochenende unterbrochen wurde) nun abgeschlossen sind, kann ich nun endlich rufen: Semesterferien! Und ich kann das auch gleich wieder zurücknehmen. Denn nun gilt es den Lektüreberg für die Masterarbeit zu bezwingen. Die Anmeldung ist zwar erst im März, doch eine gute Vorbereitung kann nicht früh genug anfangen. Oder so ähnlich. Ich versuche nur, die derzeit noch vorhandene Motivation auszunutzen. Und um mich später motivieren zu können, habe ich mir Dinge bestellt. Dinge, die heute angekommen sind:

Post-its! Washi-Tape! Und ein To-Do-Wochenplan! Und Geschenkpapier, aber damit kann ich meine Masterarbeit nicht organisieren. Ich könnte sie verzieren, aber soweit bin ich noch lange nicht. Jedenfalls bin ich sehr begeistert von den vielen bunten Klebedingen. Jetzt muss ich die vielen bunten Klebedinge nur noch schön auf meinem Schreibtisch verstauen. Hat da jemand ne Idee?

Mon frère et chien.

Mon frère s’appelle Marco. Il a vingt-deux ans. Il est jeune, grand et brun. Il est drôle. Il est créatif, il étudie des études théâtrales et il écrit supers pièces de théâtre. Il est metteur en scène aussi. Mon frère et moi aimons notre chien. Il s’appelle Brandy. Il a neuf ans. Il est petit et un peu fou. Mais il est sage et beau.


Dies ist meine Französischhausaufgabe. Wir sollten mit Adjektiven Menschen (oder Tiere) beschreiben. Irgendwie sieht der Text arg kurz aus, aber ich kann nicht mehr sagen. Sehr traurig. Um diese traurigen Sätze hier zu schreiben, habe ich gerade die Kategorie "She improves her English" umbenannt in "She improves her language skills", damit das flexibel einsetzbar ist. Nicht, dass das irgendjemand interessieren würde.
Aber vielleicht kann mir jemand ein leicht verständliches Buch auf Französisch empfehlen? Ich bin am Überlegen, ob ich es mal mit den üblichen roten Reclam-Bändchen versuchen soll.
Man sieht - ich bin furchtbar ehrgeizig beim Französisch lernen. Aber das wirkt nur so. Ich hab seit einer Woche keine Vokabeln mehr gelernt, was bedeutet, dass ich morgen bestimmt hundert Vokabelkarten schreiben muss. Je suis désolée.

Englischhausaufgaben.

Nachdem ich mir vorgenommen habe diesen Montag in die Englischvorlesungen zu gehen, habe ich auch bei einer Dozentin (nur eine, weil der andere Dozent keine Mailadresse angegeben hat ... sowas nervt. Sehr.) nachgefragt wie weit die Vorlesung denn schon im Skript ist und welche Hausaufgaben die lieben Studenten den auf haben, damit ich diese auch machen kann.

Was ich auch sehr brav gemacht habe.
Und nachdem heute Montag ist und die Englischvorlesung vorbei ist (eine von den beiden, ich durfte bzw. darf noch warten bis zur nächsten Vorlesung um 13:45 ...), habe ich sehr brav meine Hausaufgabe mit der Lösung verglichen.
Meistens mach ich Zeiten falsch, das muss noch geübt werden.

In 2008 and 2009 the government rescued many companies which were affected by the economic crisis. Therefore there was less money available int he budget for infrastructure investments. However the Olypmic Games in Sochi have been exempt from the cuts.

When did the government announce its ambitious plans? For what kind of projects were the additional funds intended for? Why did the government has to delay or even cancel many projects? Experts complain that the government does not publish the revised figures.

Why did the investment activity in Russia collapse in the 1990s? How has the situation developed in the last ten years? Is the number of foreign investors increasing?

The last task for Intercultural Business Communication was a poster about a country, that could be a large future market. Or something like that.
My group had Croatia and my task was "Dimensions of global literacy - History, geography and basic economic facts". Hurray.

So - why I got just 7 Points???
I think I will go to bed now and cry. Yes, that is a good plan.

(Okay, sure. I can live with that. Really. It was just a shock to see a 7 instead of a 10)

The real-life Flashmob

I really like flashmobs. I love to see the different videos on Youtube and now - FINALLY - I saw one in real-life.
Okay ... I have to say, it was no surprise because the Flashmob was organized from my university here (or maybe I should say one course organized it) and we all knew it because there was a Facebook group and advertisment in the university.
But anyway - it was quite nice to see all these students hitting each other. In a nice and friendly way. ;)

Explanation: Some students begin to argue and then music is starting (which you can not hear in this video ...) and everyone begins to hit other students with a towel. Then the music changes and everyone huges someone. Music stops, everyone goes away. That's it.

I'm very sorry to post again just a part of my assignment but I'm to lazy for a new part and I have to save my energy for writing a text about Stockholm (♥).


So. Today you can learn something about the Bavarian culture.

"Oachkatzlschwoaf"

In Bavaria this is a very famous word to check if someone is from Bavaria or if he or she is a "Zuagroaster" someone who is not from Bavaria. For Non-Bavarians it is very hard to pronounce this word and to understand what it means. In "normal" German you would say "Eichhörnchenschwanz" (squirrel tail). So everyone who can not say "Oachkatzlschwoaf" or can not understand what it means must be from other parts of Germany and Bavarians can call him or her "Preiß", a dialect word formerly for Prussian but nowadays for everyone who is from other parts of Germany.

The Bavarians are very proud of their country and also they think they are something special in the whole Federal Republic of Germany. And so they want to separate from the other inhabitants through their dialect. It is also very common in Bavaria to make jokes like "I am from Bavaria, that is near Germany", to point out that they are not like the rest of Germany. But on the other hand, the rest of Germany thinks sometimes that Bavarians are arrogant and speak a language that nobody can understand. Especially words like "Oachkatzlschwoaf".

In English please.

My English teacher in Munich said that I should try to improve my English by using it. And so I thought I could use this wonderful blog for some English exercises. I will try to write once a week in English and I would be glad if you correct my mistakes. Learning by doing. Or something like that.

I would like to start with a text I wrote for an assignment in Intercultural Business Communication about some typical German sentences. 

Bitte reservieren Sie die Liegen nicht mit Handtüchern -Please do not reserve the sun loungers with your towel

A typical holiday in a hotel resort. It is early in the morning, everyone is sleeping. Everyone? No! There is one group that is already awake. The Germans. And they have a special mission – to reserve the sun loungers with their towels to have the best place at the pool or at the beach. They place their towels and other personal stuff on the sun loungers, put a parasol to "their" place and then they go back to sleep or go to breakfast. When the other guests come to the pool or the beach they do not find a good place or even a free sun lounger because all the German guests have reserved them with their towels. On the other hand many Germans complain about their fellow countrymen because of this attitude. The culture of reserving sun loungers creates a "towel war" in the hotel resorts. Other guests try to stand up earlier than the Germans or put the towels in the pool to anger the Germans. Also some hotels try to avoid the German reservation culture and put up some signs with the sentence "Please do not reserve the sun loungers with your towel" (of course with the German translation). But Germans ignore this rule because they want their sun lounger. Even if this means that they have to stand up early in the morning. On vacation.
